Lena Jackson is an underground hip-hop artist and poet hailing from Raleigh, North Carolina. Primarily born and raised in poverty stricken areas, Lena grew up with music as her focal point of comfort, with writing as her therapy. Jackson started penning poetry as a child, but later became intrigued by cypher sessions she would see in school cafeterias in her early teens. She eventually learned to interchange poetry stanzas for rap bars, and found pleasure in both spoken word and cypher rapping. Her influences include Nas, MC Lyte, Outkast, Missy Elliot, and Bone Thugs & Harmony.
Affectionately referred to as "The Wolf" by her musical peers, guest features and live performances expose her raw talent and spirited personality. However, Jackson's goal with her upcoming 2018 release "The Darkness Brim EP" is to display her verbal skill set while expounding on darker topics not typically discussed in mainstream hip-hop; issues such as poverty, domestic violence and mental illness. With powerful messages connected to intense delivery, Lena Jackson is prepared to interject a different, deeper and doper perspective into the rap game.
